Are you a glass half full or half empty person? What three things could help you?

Good morning

Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

Are you a glass half full or half empty person?  I normally try to be positive but just recently I have been finding that difficult, mainly due to health problems.  My counsellor advised me to notice the good things in life, even the small things, and this can be beneficial to your health and wellbeing.  He suggested to think of three things each day that I am grateful for.

What three things might these be today?

A Lent Project - What three things?

I must admit I didn't start doing this straight away but I am now using it as a Lent project.  During Lent many people give up something, biscuits, cake, wine or whatever they enjoy or they read the Bible more or maybe even a special book.

The Lent Project: begin with small things

So I have started my Lent project with thinking of very small things, for example, I was well enough to have a phone call with one of my daughters, I wasn't too tired to finish listening to the chapter of the audio book I am enjoying, it wasn't raining and I was able to go into the garden for a short time.

Some Problems Only God Can Solve

Everyone will be different and we can be dealt some problems only God can Solve in His timing. But while we are waiting we have the knowledge that He is with us and sustaining us.

This year as well as looking at Psalm 23 in a deep and different way during Lent, which I am thoroughly enjoying and benefitting from, I am using my three things I am grateful for as my evening prayer and thanking God for them.  I hope to be able to continue this after Lent because God is with us in even the smallest things and He deserves our thanks and praise.

What three things might you choose today?

Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

If your glass feels half empty at the moment think of 1 Peter ch.5 v.7. "Give all your worries and cares to God for He cares about you."

Have a good week and may you know God's presence with you in even the smallest things in your lives. What three things can you think of now? It is never to late to begin this Lent project.

Amen.

Love, Wendy
